Cincinnati Art Club is looking for Workshop facilitators for 2010
If you like to teach painting we would love to talk with
you! The Cincinnati Art Club is lining up facilitators for the 2010 workshop
season. We like to spread out the
workshops to cover specific medium challenges - oils, acrylics/water media,
pastel, etc. We are even having a
business workshop this fall.
Teaching a
workshop provides you with an opportunity to contribute to the club, as the
proceeds go to the general operating fund.
It can also connect you with new students and potential
commissions. Most workshops take place
over two days, generally on the weekend.
Facilitators are paid, although some have chosen to waive their fee and
donate the full amount to CAC.
Please contact Marion
Corbin Mayer, workshops@cincinnatiartclub.com if you would like to talk
about teaching a weekend workshop. If
you would like to suggest someone, I would be happy to follow up with them as
well. We like to support our members but
also do reach out to the general art community.

The New York Times recently told the world about Cincinnati’s artsy
swagger. Case-in-point: Last fall, people from across the region came
together on Fountain Square
to celebrate our city through the power of collective creativity. Cincinnati’s first-ever Splash Dance
( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EW58tCXeb80 ) became an Internet hit, getting over 50,000
views!
This year, our second annual “Ta Da” celebration will take an unexpected twist.
What we’re planning is just as amazing and fun and for everyone.
We are going to paint the street on September 26,
2010.*
Yep - our canvas will be the actual pavement of 12th Street between Main and Central
Parkway. This stretch of 12th Street is
the backbone of a vibrant scene that is home to galleries, unique shops,
restaurants, Art Academy, School for the Creative and
Performing Arts, Know Theatre of Cincinnati, ArtWorks, Ensemble Theater, Music
Hall, and our new offices too.
Everybody is welcome to paint! Bring your friends, family,
neighbors, colleagues, and more! We need an artsmob
for this day! We’re probably going to break a world record with this
paint-by-numbers artwork. (Seriously!)
And it’s easy – we provide all the materials. Some of our fabulous
friends are working with the community to create a design for all of us to
complete.
Just like last year, we’ll be creating a video of the fun. We’ll use the
video for the 2011 annual campaign for the arts, post it on YouTube, Facebook, websites,
etc.
See you there! The Creative TeamLisa, Margy, Tom, & friends
You sign up below -- everyone over 18 signs up on their own.
And do bring children -- you can add them in the number
box.
If you want to make arrangements to bring a team from your
club, gym, workplace, neighborhood, etc, contact Tom at TMcLaughlin@FineArtsFund.org. As the day gets closer, we will be in touch
with more details. *Rain dates October
2 + 3.
